Premesso che:
La ferrovia Domodossola - Milano è una delle principali linee ferroviarie italiane e internazionali nonché una delle più trafficate sia dal punto di vista passeggeri sia nel trasporto di merci;
essa rappresenta un punto nevralgico per le comunicazioni verso il capoluogo Lombardo e, in senso contrario, un corridoio verso l'Europa grazie al nodo ferroviario di Briga-Glis da cui è possibile avere collegamenti diretti con Parigi (via Losanna), Ginevra e Bruxelles (via Basilea e Lussemburgo);
sulla linea si trova la stazione di Arona, snodo del traffico passeggeri su queste direttrici;
recentemente, sono giunte diverse segnalazioni di cittadini Disabili che - a seguito di lavori di ristrutturazione del complesso ferroviario e cessione di spazi ai privati - sono rimasti privi dell'unico ascensore adibito all'accesso alla banchina posta al piano superiore rispetto al piano biglietterie;
