Fire: Renewal of contract at risk?
As you know, the Finance Act 2007 with the aim of reducing the cost to the State Fire Service has introduced the surcharge on air tickets, resulting in the creation of a special fund firefighting . Article 4, paragraph 3 bis of Legislative Decree No 29 November 2008 185 has determined that the resources of the fund firefighting "are used with effect from 1 January 2009, 40 percent of the implementation of agreements in order to rescue a public contract, each year, including Government and trade unions of the National Body of firefighters to ensure improvement in the quality of the emergency services provided by the staff of the National Body of Fire, and 60 percent in order to ensure the use of a more effective public relief activities of the National Body of firefighters, providing details of fees for the establishment of a special allowance for working in the emergency service technician urgently carried out , establishing also that "The way to use the resources referred to in paragraph 3-bis shall be specified in the negotiation process provided for in Articles 37 and 83 Legislative Decree 13 October 2005, No 217 ".
Airlines have immediately claimed that the aforementioned Legislative Decree 185/2008 allocated the sum of the fund to cover the overhead costs of CNVVF, pursuing such objectives totally unrelated to those originally identified, or helping to finance the work of all fire fighters and not just those assigned to the service in airports, thereby presenting the appeal.
Currently, the Tax Commission upheld the appeal, thus blocking resources for 30 million euro , fire fighting equipment from the fund, thereby a rischio tra le altre cose l’indennità per servizi esterni .
Il Governo non si è ancora espresso sul se intende assicurare comunque la copertura del rinnovo contrattuale 2008/2009 e con quali risorse.
